By Maddie Clarkewright
I wonder if we could live a life together in black and white,
a life locked in the 3-walled rooms of a sitcom from the 1950s,
or maybe, together, we’d be more like the Twilight Zone.
For the time being you’re on the other side of town,
but I wonder how small we could be
if we held each other close,
how lost we could feel if we only had one another.
I think the answer is in the fog
beneath the hills in between us.
If you tell me the darkest minute in the night,
I’ll meet you then.
