We start with chatting, followed by a short reading (either poetry or a fiction example). After the reading we give prompts with many choices -- often including a a specific writing exercise, line prompts, and a group brainstorm. Writers are free to follow prompts or write whatever inspires them. We write for about 20-25 minutes. Writers are invited to share their pieces and receive affirmative feedback, all in a safe, encouraging environment.
